The Illawarra and the NSW South Coast — Stanwell Park, Wollongong, Kiama, Gerringong, Berry, Jervis Bay and on to Mollymook — combine some of the country's most photographed coastline with a busy events calendar. Coastal Water Safety Australia provides drone shark surveillance, event water safety and rapid-response rescue services across the region. We deploy from our Mid North Coast base to support council programs, surf life saving carnivals, ocean swims, triathlons and school programs from the northern Illawarra to the Shoalhaven.

The Illawarra's escarpment beaches at Stanwell, Coalcliff and Austinmer are dramatic but compact, with limited beach access and big swell exposure. Wollongong's North Beach and the Continental Pool sit beside the harbour; Kiama's Bombo and Surf Beach run high-profile events. South of the Shoalhaven, Jervis Bay's white sand beaches and the breaks around Mollymook and Narrawallee are summer hot-spots. Each environment needs different equipment and crew configuration — we tailor every deployment to the venue.
