Servicing the Far South Coast region
The Far South Coast — Batemans Bay, Narooma, Bermagui, Merimbula and Eden — runs through some of the cleanest, wildest coastline in NSW. The Sapphire Coast and Eurobodalla coast sees fewer events than the metro coast but the events that do run are demanding: long-distance ocean swims, off-shore paddle events, and significant surf comps at Pambula and Tathra. Coastal Water Safety Australia services the Far South Coast for major events and council programs. We deploy with full kit — drone, sonar, jet skis, on-water crew — and work closely with Marine Rescue NSW South Coast units.
The Far South Coast coastline
Eden is the southernmost full-time town on the NSW coast and the marine environment changes character here — bigger swells, colder water, rich whale and shark activity. Bermagui's offshore canyons attract serious game-fishing fleets, and Narooma's Glasshouse Rocks corridor is one of the most beautiful but exposed paddle environments in the state. We're set up for the longer travel and remote-deployment requirements that come with operating below Bega — including overnight crew rotations and self-sufficient communication setups.

Local conditions & hazards
Long stretches of unpatrolled coast, significant cold-water exposure in winter and shoulder seasons, the entrance bars at Narooma and Pambula, and confirmed great white activity in the deeper offshore waters between Bermagui and Eden. The remoteness of the coast means rescue logistics and communications planning matter more than they do further north — we plan for it on every deployment.
